Talman is the largest provider of in-house wool IT systems in the world with over 75% of the wool industry in Australia and New Zealand using its software solutions. The integration enables Cobalt users to seamlessly manage their wool business in conjunction with Cobalt Accounting.

Talman Software

Talman Software has been providing IT solutions to the Australian and New Zealand wool industries since 1976. Talman’s software solutions span public and private auctions, private sales, delivery, dumping, and local or overseas processing. Talman’s software solutions are also tailored to meet the requirements of large corporate groups or small businesses.

One of the key features of the integration is the Talman Import function in Cobalt Accounting. This function allows Cobalt users to import wool invoices from Talman into Cobalt Accounting easily and accurately. It works as follows:

• Purchase, Invoice, Account, Shipping Invoices, and Customer Journals can be exported from Talman in a single file.
• Importing this file results in the list of these invoices appearing in the Talman Import window in Cobalt Accounting, as per the corresponding image.
• Users can select invoices from this list to be processed into Cobalt Accounting.
• Details of the selected invoice appear in the ‘Sales Details’ section of the Talman Import window. In this window, Cobalt users can break down the sale and select which accounts each aspect is relevant to. Users can also edit the invoice details before processing it.
• Once the invoice is processed, it will be marked as imported and removed from the list.

Cobalt’s Talman Import function simplifies the accounting process for wool sales and ensures that the data is consistent and accurate across both systems.
